EsterAI (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a personal, single-user AI assistant for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information. In short: the App has no account system, stores your data on your device, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal information.
You do not create an account and do not sign in. In its standard mode the App does not send your content to any server operated by us. There is no advertising, no cross-app tracking, and no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs in the App.
Consistent with this app’s App Store privacy label (“Data Not Collected”), the developer collects no data from the App. Your content is stored on your device and, when you choose to chat, is sent only to the AI provider you configured (see section 3) — never to us.
The App is a client for the AI provider you configure with your own account and key. When you send a message or attach a document, that content is transmitted directly from your device to the provider you chose so it can generate a response. That processing is governed by the provider’s own terms and privacy policy, not ours:
Please review the policy of whichever provider you use. For cloud providers your messages are handled under their policy; for a local provider such as LM Studio they stay on your own hardware. We do not receive a copy of these messages.
The App may also access other third-party content at your request — for example fetching a web page to summarize, or opening an article link in your browser. That content is provided by third parties under their own terms and is retrieved on your behalf through your own accounts; we do not host, store or claim ownership of it.
The App asks for these only when you use the related feature, and you can decline or revoke them in iOS Settings at any time:
The App can optionally connect to companion software that you run on your own personal computer. If you choose to set that up, data is exchanged directly between your own devices over a connection you control. We do not operate that computer and do not receive that data.
Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. You can delete individual conversations inside the App, and deleting the App from your device removes all locally stored data, including your encrypted chats and your stored API key.
The App is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under the age required by the laws of their country.
Conversations are encrypted at rest on your device and your API key is held in the iOS Keychain. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we design the App to keep your data on your device and out of our hands.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
